| Woodsong Instruments We are a family business. We specialize in bamboo folk instruments. Bamboo is a hollow reed, native all over the world; it is a planetary citizen, and unsurpassed in its natural, resounding qualities. Folk instruments extend the musical capacity of folks like you and I. We can respond to and imitate the sounds of the world around us, like birdsong, crickets, wind, and running water. Folk instruments are a tool for our personal expression. The key to making wind instruments ring out is to achieve a balance between the direction, the speed, and the pressure of the breath. The bell-like resonant quality of all instruments is enhanced by holding them lightly. It is a wonderful thing to make music, and an honour for us to provide fine instruments that are affordable to every one. |
| Care and Repair of Woodsong
Instruments Keep instruments at a stable temperature. Radical temperature changes can cause cracking. Keep them safe from falling and out of direct sunlight. Play often; playing an instrument improves it. If a crack appears, immediately fill it with epoxy, let it dry completely, sand off excess glue, and finish with steel wool. |
